Syöpä on yksi merkittävimmistä ennenaikaisen kuoleman syistä maailmanlaajuisesti. Multippeli myelooma on plasmasolusyöpä, jolle on ominaista mutatoituneiden plasmasolujen hallitsematon lisääntyminen. Plasmasolut kertyvät luuytimeen häiriten sen normaalia toimintaa, mikä voi johtaa muun muassa anemiaan, immuunipuolustuksen heikkenemiseen ja lisääntyneeseen infektioriskiin. Syöpäsolujen toiminta voi myös johtaa luuston heikkenemiseen ja aiheuttaa näin luustokipuja ja jopa murtumia. Mutatoitunee...
