Young people, technology, and learning: an intersectional feminist approach to digital inequalities in education

Abstract:

This study investigates the role of technology in the learning of multiply marginalized young people in Washington, D.C., using an intersectional feminist lens to examine how structural inequalities impact their educational experiences. Drawing on feminist theory, education, and technology and media studies, the research explores how systems of power—such as racism, classism, sexism, and patriarchy—intersect to shape young people’s engagement with technology in educational settings.
