Demand for social health insurance: Evidence from the Chinese New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme

This paper assesses the determinants of the enrolment in the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme (NRCMS), a heavily subsidized voluntary health insurance scheme in rural China.
