THE PREPARATION OF TL-BA-CA-CU-O THIN-FILMS BY A 2-STEP PROCEDURE AND THEIR CHARACTERIZATION USING MICRO-RAMAN SPECTROMETRY

Abstract:
Superconducting TlBaCaCuO films were prepared by spray pyrolysis and sputtering techniques followed by a thallium-diffusion anneal. X-ray diffraction shows the presence of predominantly Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 phase material. Micro-Raman spectrometry has been used as a complementary technique for probing the films' microstructure. Localised inclusions were identified within the (001) oriented TBCCO-2212 matrix. This information can be used for the optimisation of the preparation procedures. © 1994.
