A/B testing in education: rapid experimentation to optimise programme cost-effectiveness

Abstract:
This insight note summarises findings from rapid A/B testing approaches used to improve the cost-effectiveness of education programmes. Drawing on multiple experiments, the note demonstrates how adaptive testing can optimise programme design at scale, strengthen implementation, and improve learning outcomes. The evidence provides practical guidance for policymakers and implementers seeking to apply iterative experimentation in education systems.
