Atomic parity non-conservation: Recent measurements in bismuth and samarium

Abstract:: We give a brief introduction to the study of parity non-conserving effects in atoms. We describe the optical rotation experiments carried out in Oxford, and summarize recent results for bismuth and work in progress on samarium.
