Pentoxifylline as an adjunct therapy in children with cerebral malaria.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Pentoxifylline (PTX) affects many processes that may contribute to the pathogenesis of severe malaria and it has been shown to reduce the duration of coma in children with cerebral malaria.
