What’s in a name? The posthumous fortune of Katherine Read
- Abstract:
- This article deals with several misattributions of Katherine Read’s pastels and oil paintings. It envisages some of the consequences of the failure to recognise her work. Whilst evoking a specific case, it offers more general reflections on the (re)identification of artists.
