Excavations in the South Agora, 2012
- Abstract:
- Aphrodisias is well known as a city of marble architecture and marble statuary. This paper reports on a recent initiative within the New York University Excavations at Aphrodisias project to add more varied texture to that picture by investigating the landscape architecture and garden archaeology of a major public space in the center of the city, the so-called South Agora.
