Quiescence as a mechanism for cyclical hypoxia and acidosis

Abstract:
Tumour tissue characteristically experiences fluctuations in substrate supply. This unstable microenvironment drives constitutive metabolic changes within cellular populations and, ultimately, leads to a more aggressive phenotype.
