Possible pitfalls in the identification of glycophorin-binding proteins of Plasmodium falciparum.
Plasmodium falciparum proteins that bind to the putative erythrocyte receptor (glycophorin) have been identified in several laboratories by their ability to bind to glycophorin immobilized on aminoethyl-BioGel (AE-BioGel).
