Inside back cover: Highly potent cationic chitosan derivatives coupled to antimicrobial peptide dendrimers to combat Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 19/2024)
- Abstract:
- AMPD‐Chitosan Conjugates In article 2304118, Viorica Patrulea and co‐workers, novel approaches for combating bacteria are developed. They conjugate cationic antimicrobial peptide dendrimers (AMPD) to chitosan derivatives. These compounds effectively disrupt the membranes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, both internally and externally, with minimal cell toxicity and RBC hemolysis. Furthermore, coupling AMPD to chitosan derivatives enhances in a synergetic manner their antibacterial properties.
