Antiquarian Enquiries into the Initiation Manuals of the Catuṣpīṭha

Abstract:: The aim of this paper is not to deal extensively with the contents of the Catuṣpīṭha initiation manuals. That is far too difficult a task to be undertaken at the moment, due to the paucity of material on one hand, and the ‘barbaric’ language peculiar to these works on the other. My aim is merely to present a certain corpus of manuscripts, mostly from the microfilm archives of the NGMPP, and try to clear up some points of confusion regarding them.
