Dog bowls and clean socks: a miscellaneous Ptolemaic account
- Abstract:
- Publication of a Ptolemaic papyrus fragment from the collection of the Bodleian Library, Oxford: Bodl. MS. Gr. class. f. 29 (P). The papyrus was excavated by Flinders Petrie at Gurob, Egypt. It is an account of daily expenses from around the middle of the third century BC, and is of interest for the rare items listed and for some unusual vocabulary. A small scrap from the same find, MS. Gr. class. f. 28 (P), is also published as an appendix.
