Novel polymerisation approaches for future batteries

Abstract:

This thesis describes the synthesis of block copolymers featuring polycarbonates and polyesters and their optimisation and application in all-solid-state Li-ion batteries. All of the new polymers are prepared by one-pot, selective switchable polymerisation catalysis, combining lactone or cyclic carbonate ring-opening polymerisation (ROP) and epoxide/CO2 or anhydride ring-opening copolymerisation (ROCOP) cycles using a single catalyst.
