Selective modulation of cell surface proteins during vaccinia infection: A resource for identifying viral immune evasion strategies

Abstract:
(A) Peptide ratios comparing the peptide count for a given protein in the PMP vs. WCL [9] for all human proteins quantified in both PMP replicates. ‘PMP only’ = not detected in any of the WCL replicates. ‘PM annotation’ includes GO terms PM, CS, XC and ShG. (B) Cut-off peptide ratio of 0.5 (dashed line), as determined in panel A, applied to 73 VACV proteins detected in either of the PMP replicates to identify high-confidence VACV PM proteins (Table 1). (C) Temporal profiles of all known and high-confidence VACV PM and secreted proteins. Data are represented as mean ± SD (PMP n = 2; WCL n = 3, A43: WCL n = 1).
