Hydrogenolysis of Allyl and Benzyl Halides and Related Compounds

Abstract:: This chapter describes the reduction of benzyl and allyl-heteroatom (O, N, and S) bonds to their corresponding alkanes. Many methods are available for these reductions; here the focus is on widely used methods that can provide useful selectivity. Methods are grouped by the type of reagent used and examples are given to illustrate selectivity and generality. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
