BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Cardiometabolic disorders include cardiovascular diseases and metabolic conditions such as diabetes mellitus and represent a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Identification of specific biological pathways driving progression of these disorders may unveil targets for preventing and treating these diseases.
