Psilocybin therapy for treatment resistant depression: prediction of clinical outcome by natural language processing

Abstract:
Study Purpose: To explore the efficacy between psilocybin dosage, conscious altering experiences, and psychological support for adults experiencing treatment-resistant depression. Methods: This systematic literature review utilized 16 peer-reviewed articles to investigate the validity and efficacy of psilocybin to treat treatment-resistant depression in adults. Findings: Greater dosages, experiencing heightened consciousness and receiving psychological support show correlation with favorable outcomes. These findings align with previous studies, yet further research is necessary to confirm efficacy. Discussion: Psilocybin assisted therapy can help individuals experiencing treatment-resistant depression by reducing mental health symptoms and alleviating financial burdens at micro and macro levels. Access to alternative treatments is key and by providing further research, this can be achieved
