A study of hydride precipitation in zirconium

Abstract:

Zirconium-based alloys used in nuclear reactors are susceptible to hydrogen pickup. When the hydrogen concentration in the solid solution exceeds the threshold limit (terminal solubility), a solid-state phase transformation occurs in these alloys.
