2-azabenzonorbornanes from 7-azabenzonorbornanols by a nitrogen-directed neophyl-type radical rearrangement.

Abstract:: [reaction: see text] Barton deoxygenation of 7-azabenzonorbornanols leads to a synthetically useful neophyl-like rearrangement to give 2-azabenzonorbornane derivatives in 64-90% yields.
