INTERPRETATION OF THE POLARIZED ELECTRON-PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE SIGNAL OF PLANT PHOTOSYSTEM-I
- Abstract:
- Attempts to interpret the polarized EPR spectrum of Photosystem I of plant photosynthesis are described. Electron spin polarization is assumed to arise in the primary radical pair P-700+ A-0 and to be passed to a secondary acceptor A1 by rapid electron transfer. By including the dipolar interaction between P-700+ and A-0 and an anisotropic g-tensor for A-1 EPR spectra similar to the experimental lineshape can be simulated. The resulting magnetic parameters are discussed in the light of a recent suggestion that A-1 may be a semiquinone. © 1986.
