Inequality in political power: A fundamental (and Overlooked) dimension of inequality.
- Abstract:
- The paper covers an aspect of inequality that is rarely discussed and even more rarely measured: inequality in political access and power. Realized and practiced access to political power is important in its own right as one of the fundamental human rights and freedoms. It is also essential instrumentally to secure the sustained achievement of other human rights and, in particular, greater equality in basic dimensions of human flourishing.
