Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Polymorphisms in 11-β hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD1, encoded by HSD11B1) have been reported to be associated with obesity-related cardiovascular risk factors, such as type II diabetes and hypertension.
