Guilt by dissociation: Guilt primes augment the relationship between dissociative tendencies and statedissociation
- Abstract:
- We examined the influence of guilt on the relationship between dissociative tendencies and state dissociation during mirror-gazing in a non-clinical sample. Dissociative tendencies correlated with state dissociation following guilt primes, but not after negative or neutral primes. This suggests that guilt augments the relationship between dissociative tendencies and state dissociation. © 2012 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
