SYNTHESIS OF THE NECINE BASE PLATYNECINE FROM GLUCOSE

Abstract:: A synthesis of platynecine from an intermediate is described which has previously been used for the synthesis of the enantiomers of retronecine; the stereochemistry of the necine base is determined by the formation of a tricyclic amide intermediate. © 1991.
