New software for rigorous bearing capacity calculations

Abstract:

The introduction of computer program, analysis of bearing capacity (ABC) to calculate vertical bearing capacity of strip and circular foundations is described. The standard linear, isotropic Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion is adopted, with c allowed to vary linearly with depth. For classical case of associated flow, a collapse load could be extended throughout soil mass in statically admissible manner.
