Development, usability testing and implementation of an online, self-directed exercise programme for people with rheumatoid arthritis affecting the hands
- Abstract:
-
The Strengthening and Stretching for Rheumatoid Arthritis of the Hand (SARAH) programme is an individually tailored 12-week progressive exercise programme for people with hand problems due to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The programme demonstrated to be clinically and cost effective in a large multicentre randomised controlled clinical trial and was recommended in the updated UK guidelines of RA management.
To date, there are no online exercise programmes targeting hand function in people with RA. We propose an online SARAH exercise programme (mySARAH) that can be accessed by people with RA anytime, anywhere.
