Abstract:: A synthesis of (-)-cubebol from l-menthone is described. The key step involves efficient (90%) and completely stereocontrolled intramolecular cyclopropanation of an unsaturated α-lithiated terminal epoxide. © Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.
