Book
Deregulation and the future of commercial television
- Abstract:
- Four papers illustrate how a radical change in the market structure of British television calls for modes of economic analysis which, while familiar to economists in the United States are relatively unfamiliar to their British counterparts. Papers focus on an introduction to television economics; regulation and strategic behavior in commercial television; auctioning the ITV franchises; and regulating a partly deregulated broadcasting system. Contributors are Martin Cave, Ken Cheong, Robin Foster, and the editors. Hughes is at the University of Edinburgh. Vines is at the University of Glasgow. No index.
