BACKGROUND: Increased glycemic variability is associated with an increase risk of adverse clinical outcomes in diabetes. Central to the understanding of diabetes is glucose homeostasis. "Good" homeostasis is equated to low glycemic variability, and "poor" homeostasis is linked to greater glycemic variability.
