Nickel oxide activities in silicate melts in the system CaO-MgO- Al2O3-SiO2-NiO.

Abstract:: Henry's Law was found to be obeyed over the range 300-20 000 ppm NiO. The activity coefficient (gamma NiO) varies strongly with T. All compositions showed the deviations from ideality with the partial molar heats of mixing ranging from +23 to 51 kcal/mole. The compositional dependence was studied in the systems CaO-MgO- SiO2-NiO and CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2-NiO. -C.M.B.H.
