Singing & social bonding in a University Fraternity study dataset

Documentation:
These data were collected from a quasi-experimental study looking at the effects of cooperative & competitive singing on social closeness between teams from different Fraternity Cliques. We experimentally reconstructed singing contests and collaborations between teams that are observed in this setting ethnographically, asking teams to sing Fraternity songs as loudly as possible either to receive a shared prize or to beat the other team for a prize. The method is outlined in Pearce et al ‘Singing together or apart: The effect of competitive and cooperative singing on social bonding within and between sub-groups of a University Fraternity’. The code for each variable is given in the name at the top of each column.
