These data were collected from a quasi-experimental study looking at the effects of cooperative & competitive singing on social closeness between teams from different Fraternity Cliques. We experimentally reconstructed singing contests and collaborations between teams that are observed in this setting ethnographically, asking teams to sing Fraternity songs as loudly as possible either to receive a shared prize or to beat the other team for a prize.
