Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To examine the duration and magnitude of increased risk of venous thromboembolism after different types of surgery. DESIGN: Prospective cohort study (Million Women Study). SETTING: Questionnaire data from the Million Women Study linked with hospital admission and death records.
