Structural study of amorphous CoFeB thin films exhibiting in-plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy

Abstract:

The structure of amorphous ferromagnetic Co40 Fe40 B20 thin films, in particular the origin of induced magnetic in-plane anisotropy, is investigated by reduced density function (RDF) analysis of electron-diffraction patterns. In this research, the RDF methodology is developed in order to measure the direction-dependent bond lengths and coordination numbers.
