Imaging and neurobiological changes in late-life depression.

Abstract:: Depression was previously thought of as a 'functional' illness, without demonstrable pathology, but the advent of sophisticated neuroimaging techniques has changed this perspective. This article reviews the latest structural and functional brain imaging studies, describing the neurobiological changes which underlie this common condition. © 2014 MA Healthcare Ltd.
