Professeur Bah Thierno Mouctar: douze ans de persévérance pour la soutenance d’une thèse de Doctorat à titre posthume à l’Université de Yaoundé I (1993-2005)
- Abstract:
-
This article traces the academic relationship between Professor Bah Thierno Mouctar, a Guinean historian who sought refuge at the University of Yaoundé, and his Burundian student Léonidas Bateranzigo. Despite the latter's commitment and rigor, his untimely death in 1993 interrupted the defense of his doctoral thesis, which was nearing completion. Driven by a deep sense of duty and intellectual fidelity, Professor Bah fought for twelve years to have the thesis defended posthumously, which took place in 2005, marking a first in Cameroonian academic history.
