Orbital sarcoidosis of the optic nerve: MRI findings and differential diagnosis

Abstract:
Intraorbital sarcoidosis is a rare cause of intraconal pathology. It may be indistinguishable from lymphoma, pseudotumor orbitae or menigeoma by magnetic resonance imaging alone. Concomittant uveitis, not occurring in most of the differential diagnosis mentioned, may direct the attention to sarcoidosis and induce further diagnostics.
