A study of the fcc (FeCo)(23)B-6 phase in fully crystallized Fe-Co-Nb-B-Cu alloys

Abstract:
Fe-Co-Nb-B-Cu alloys lose their nanocrystalline microstructure at a second crystallization process in which (FeCo)23B6 crystals appear as the main boride phase. In this work the structural characteristics and composition of this phase are studied. The amount and grain size of the (FeCo)23B6 phase increase as the Co content in the alloy increases. After recrystallization, α-FeCo crystals remain at a nanometric size. The lattice parameter and Curie temperature of the (FeCo)23B6 phase are reported.
