Host gene expression signatures to identify infection type and organ dysfunction in children evaluated for sepsis: a multicentre cohort study

Abstract:

Background: Sepsis is defined as dysregulated host response to infection that leads to life-threatening organ dysfunction. Biomarkers characterising the dysregulated host response in sepsis are lacking.
