Abstract:: Readily available derivatives of geraniol bearing a 1-hydroxyalkyl side chain in the 6-position undergo acid-catalyzed regiospecific cyclization to form cyclogeraniol derivatives which have an interesting relation to ring A of taxol. © 1994.
