This thesis proposes a fresh reading of subjectivity in Sartre’s thought through close textual engagement with Sartre’s post-war thought, guided by the theme of pro-jection – the motion by which Sartrean consciousness meets the world. From the origins of the theory of the project in L’Etre et le Néant, the thesis quickly shifts its focus to the layers of socio-material reality that grow out through Sartre’s post-war thought.
