Comparative studies on the citric acid cycle in muscle

Abstract:

Muscles throughout the animal kingdom vary widely in physiological function and metabolic characteristics. The citric acid cycle (or TCA cycle) plays a very important role in energy production in muscle. However there exists no simple means of estimating the quantitative significance of the TCA cycle in different muscles from animals across the animal kingdom.
