Ferrous fibre network materials for jet noise reduction in aeroengines part II: Thermo-mechanical stability

Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the thermo-mechanical stability of grade 304 fiber network materials at high temperature and high velocity gas streams. Thermal cycling was performed in a plasma spray facility, where the plasma gun power (15 kW) was used to generate a plasma plume of similar temperature and gas flow velocity.
