Aromatic and antiaromatic ring currents in a molecular nanoring

Abstract:

Aromatic and antiaromatic molecules exhibit ring currents around their perimeters. Similar persistent currents are observed in metal rings, when the coherence length of the electrons is longer than the circumference of the ring.
