The language of sūktas and trcas shared by the Rk, Paippalāda and Śaunakīya Samhitās

Abstract:
This paper is an attempt to reassess some linguistic questions relating to complete sūktas or verse sequences of at least a trca in length which occur in the RV and are repeated in both of the AV samhitās. Since the palm leaf manuscripts from Oriya are providing a radically new and improved view of the text and langauage of the PS, there is now a need to revise, or at least nuance, the older assessments that were based exclusively on the Śaunakīya AV, or, for the Paippalāda, exclusively on the difficult Kasmiri testimony.
