Isolation of the human sex determining region from a Y-enriched yeast artificial chromosome library.

Abstract:

We describe the isolation and characterization of yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) clones spanning the male sex determining region on the short arm of the human Y chromosome. The clones were isolated by hybridizing probes in the interval between the genes MIC2 and ZFY to a Y chromosome-enriched YAC library.
