Abstract:

Three teachers describe their involvement with the Young People's Geographies (YPG) project. Valley School gave students the opportunity to choose what they wanted to study and after much deliberation investigated food miles. Tapton School students chose how they wanted to investigate an issue concerning their school catchment. Heworth Grange School students studied change in their local area - Gateshead Quays.
