Adult-born dentate granule cells promote hippocampal population sparsity

Abstract:

The dentate gyrus (DG) gates neocortical information flow to the hippocampus. Intriguingly, the DG also produces adult-born dentate granule cells (abDGCs) throughout the lifespan, but their contribution to downstream firing dynamics remains unclear.
