Adoptive T cell therapies have achieved significant clinical responses, especially in hematopoietic cancers. Two types of receptor systems have been used to redirect the activity of T cells, normal heterodimeric T-cell receptors (TCRs) or synthetic chimeric antigen receptors (CARs).
